Taco Bell-Ringer: Brian Niccol now Chief Marketing and Innovation Officer

Yum Brands' Taco Bell chain has named Brian Niccol chief marketing and innovation officer, a newly created role, effective October 24. He will be in charge of integrating all marketing, media, brand reputation, consumer insight, food innovation and PR efforts in order to make the brand more relevant through an integrated, consumer-oriented approach. Former CMO David Ovens left the company a couple of months ago to return to Australia.

Niccol was previously general manager at sibling Pizza Hut after serving as that chain’s CMO since 2007 and as VP-strategy starting in 2005. He earlier spent about 10 years at Procter & Gamble Co. in a series of brand-management posts. Next year, according to Yum chairman and CEO David Novak, Taco Bell plans to introduce a product that will "reinvent the taco," as well as additional breakfast-menu items. The chain spent about $275 million in U.S. measured media last year, followed by $73 million during the first half of this year, according to Kantar Media.

Mutoh Continues Expansion in North America: Todd R. Molzahn hired as Central Regional Sales Manager

Phoenix, AZ. (May 2010) – Mutoh America Inc. a worldwide leader and manufacturer of large format commercial inkjet printers, is proud to announce the addition of Todd R. Molzahn as Central Regional Sales Manager. Molzahn brings more than 25 years of sales experience to his new position at Mutoh. His prior position at Brother as the Sales and Training Manager for the GT product line coupled with his hands on experience should be a valuable asset to his new position. His addition adds to the growing list of Mutoh new hires within the last several months.  

As Central Regional Sales Manager, Molzahn will be responsible for a sales territory consisting of 17 states throughout the Midwest and south. Working closely with new Director of Sales Gary Rudnick, Molzahn will work with the reseller partners within his territory as well as tap into new markets which would benefit from Mutoh’s large format inkjet printers. Molzahn has attended over 60 industry shows throughout the country and is familiar with Mutoh’s dealers and other markets in the large format printing industry. Molzahn will be based out of Mutoh America’s central regional office in Schaumburg Illinois just outside of Chicago.

Molzahn will spend the next few months attending trade shows and meeting individually with Mutoh’s dealers throughout his territory in an effort to establish and maintain Mutoh’s long lasting and highly valued business relationships. Molzahn shared a few of his thoughts regarding his new position, “It’s an honor to be chosen to be a part of the Mutoh family. Mutoh is a very respected company in this industry and I look forward to a successful career within Mutoh and meeting clients throughout my region.”

Bryon Moffett Named Demonstration Supervisor/Field Trainer at Screen (USA)

ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill. — Screen (USA) has appointed Bryon Moffett to the position of demonstration supervisor/field trainer.

In this new role, Moffett is chiefly responsible for performing printing technology demonstrations and providing onsite customer training for the Truepress Jet2500UV and Truepress Jet1600UV-F2 inkjet printing systems. In addition, he assists with product demonstrations at graphics industry trade shows where Screen (USA) is an exhibitor. He also supports Screen’s sales efforts by producing print samples requested by potential customers and Screen sales personnel.

Moffett comes to Screen (USA) with extensive hands-on experience with grand-format and wide-format inkjet printing systems and workflow applications. Most recently, he spent 12 years in technical support, training and sales capacities, covering both printing equipment and software. Early in his career, Moffett was a prepress technician at the Concord (New Hampshire) Monitor newspaper.

New General Manager Appointed Mutoh America Inc.

Phoenix, AZ. (April 2010) – Brian Phipps has been promoted to General Manager of Mutoh America Inc. He was previously Director of Sales for Mutoh and has been with the company for more than 5 years.

As the General Manager, Phipps will oversee the day-to-day operations and is responsible for directing and managing administrative and operational functions to ensure that corporate goals and objectives are met in accordance with priorities, time limitations and funding.


Phipps has a broad range of leadership management, operations, finance, sales and project management experience. He has been involved in the wide format industry for over 15 years.  As Director of Sales for MUTOH over the past couple years, he efficiently handled multiple responsibilities to help streamline processes and grow and expand sales in the North American market.


Prior to joining Mutoh America in December of 2004, Phipps held a position as Director of Sales for a fortune 500 company.  He led operations including development of administrative, sales, and operational processes, the development and execution of multiple marketing and sales campaigns that consistently exceeded company sales expectations.
