Magic Media corporate team members participated in a relay run to support a local charity, Via of the Lehigh Valley. The Leh i g h V a l l e y Hos p i t a l Marathon for Via is a large event held every year to raise money for Via’s Community Connections program. This program is designed to support people with disabilities and help them live and cope in their local communities. The Magic Media relay team consisted of 5 corporate employees: Daniel Diefenderfer, Staff Accountant; Melissa Pacovich, HR Assistant; Gary Banas, VP of HR and Risk M a na g emen t ; A m a nd a Bakelaar, Marketing Director and Mike Yasenchak, Leasing Manager. Corporate Credit Manager, Stuart Lebson, ran individually in the 26.2 mile marathon run. The event attracts runners from the entire east coast to help raise money for the organization. The race spans across three cities and two counti e s i n e a s ter n Pennsylvania. The course is designed by Bart Yasso, Chief Running Officer, Runner’s World Magazine. It begins at 7am in Allentown, PA and continues through Bethlehem along the River Canal Towpath. Streets are closed off and roads are detoured for this one day event. The end point is in Easton, PA where all relay teams and marathon runners gather to relax and receive awards. Via was very proud of the turnout this year. Via works with children up to age three in their homes and daycares to address disabilities and delays. Via trains daycare center staff so children with disabilities can go to school and learn with their peers. Via finds jobs in the community for adults and provides coaching and training for successful employment and they help people connect and live in their community by volunteering, participating in leisure activities, and finding or purchasing affordable, accessible housing.
