Magellan is a GPS manufacturer and the company used the London Fleet taxi vehicles during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas January 6th -10th. It is the world's largest convention and it is difficult to get transportation back to the hotels from the Las Vegas Convention Center, so Magellan wanted to sponsor rides to its employees and customers who had visited their booth. You could only get a ride if you had a golden ticket. It was really popular as the standard taxi lines were between 1-2 hours long. Magellan had also installed GPS units in all 12 London Taxis, meaning riders could also get a practical demonstration of its newest GPS model and get quickly back to their hotels. Pretty smart way of launching a new product and demonstrating it. All the London Taxis were wrapped with advertising for Magellan and the new Maestro GPS unit. Each London Taxi had one GPS unit in the front for the driver and one in the back for the passengers to play with.
