(BANGOR, PA) – On January 9, 2008 www.magicmedia.com divested of its Tennessee, Indiana, Eastern Illinois and Western Kentucky billboard faces to Dusty’s Outdoor Media, Inc. if Effingham, Illinois. This divestiture included approximately 187 bulletin faces which were operated in both Magic’s Mid-Atlantic and Southeast divisions. Magic Media will be using these proceeds to improve its current inventory and work toward achieving its Digital Outdoor Media Plan for 2008. Magic plans to build 50 Digital Displays throughout its portfolio in the 2008 calendar year. Currently Magic Media has ten digital displays in its portfolio. According to the Outdoor Advertising Association of America, out of home advertising is a growing $6.8 billion industry; with anticipated growth in future years. Although only a tiny fraction of billboards are digital currently, over the next few years it is predicted that several hundred digital displays may be built each year. There are many advantages of digital billboards including delivery of emergency and law-enforcement information such as AMBER Alerts to find missing children and weather and disaster bulletins and advertisers can deliver real-time information as well as many others which benefit the community and advertisers.
