Challenge

Unilever's Vaseline brand wanted to introduce their Healthy Hand & Nail lotion to beauty conscious women in the top 25 U.S. markets. Ambient Planet was contacted by Colangelo, Vaseline's promotional agency, to utilize one of the components of our "women's lifestyle network".

Strategy

The Healthy Hand and Nail lotion, undoubtedly belonged in Ambient Planet national network of beauty salons. Ambient Planet implemented interior billboards and counter displays containing pamphlets about the importance of skin care. In addition, the venues were supplied product for trial usage on consumers during their transactions as well as coupons to hand out to customers throughout the program.

Results

Unilever reported a positive lift in the variant. Venue staff and customers were also very pleased with the product and coupon. A win-win situation for everyone involved: building awareness, trial usage and a lift in sales for the advertiser, retaining customer loyalty and repeat business for the venues and a welcome surprise for the target audience.
