Meijer Supermarkets - Driving Traffic To Retail Locations

Challenge: Meijer supermarkets, a popular grocery store chain with locations in Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Kentucky wanted to drive traffic and to see a quantified lift in sales derived from their marketing efforts. Devito Verdi reached out to Ambient Planet on behalf of Meijer for assistance with this effort.

Strategy: What better way to drive traffic to supermarkets than reaching out to soccer mom types as they run errands? Ambient Planet's dry cleaner ad bags and their ability to affix peel off coupons was a smart and trackable method for achieving Meijer's objectives.

Results: The program resulted in an overall redemption of 2.2%. Average basket size increases between 50-125% were obtained dependent on coupon value. Coupon redemption life was a mere 4 weeks after program launch. Longer coupon life would result in higher redemption rates.
