Stephen Fry be crossing through all 50 States and his choice of transportation is a London Taxi.
The British actor and writer Stephen Fry (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephen_Fry) has taken on the job of making a documentary for the BBC about America. Stephen will be crossing through all 50 States and his choice of transportation is a London Taxi. In his own words, Stephen elucidates:I will zig-zag around the country in my London taxi, seeing the sights and encountering the magnificent and the eccentric, the beautiful and the strange. I will take in the small town life of Independence Day parades, PTA meetings, Summer Camp and cherry-pie bake-offs, the local elections, pageants and swap-meets. From Minnesota in winter, where all life takes place underground, to Death Valley, the Badlands, bayous, boondocks and southern plantation houses; each state contains something marvellous and particular to its people, landscape and urban environments. Warmth, humour, friendliness, landscape and delight are the hallmarks of this project, rather than cynicism or superiority. Doubtless there will be oddities and alien attitudes met along the way, but they will be accepted and allowed to stand for themselves rather than mocked and scorned. I am much more likely to meet Marge Simpson than Jessica Simpson on my travels, which truly will untie the states to reveal a ‘real America’ which the news and sensational docudramas tend to overlook.” You can follow Stephen on his journey through America in the blessays he is posting on his website (http://stephenfry.com/blog/#more-21). Also if you happen to see his London Taxi (see picture) on the road in your neck of the woods - please take a picture of the vehicle and send it to him. You can find the details on his website.
![]() Until the beginning of December Stephen is traveling on the East Coast. He has just been to Boston and New York making his way to Washington DC.
