ALLENTOWN, PA (August 2007) – Billboard Connection, an advertising agency specializing in outdoor advertising, is joining the fight against crime in Allentown. The agency has received approval from the Allentown zoning board to use space on a new digital outdoor display at 645 Hamilton Street for city alerts and advertising. The 12-feet by 24-feet display will play an instrumental role in the city’s efforts to combat crime by displaying AMBER Alerts, Crime Stoppers information and messages for upcoming community events. “We are proud to do our part to try to reduce crime in Allentown,” says Doug Reed, senior media consultant for Billboard Connection. “We will continue to assist Mayor Pawlowski, city council and the police department to make the city a better place to live, work and play.” Digital Outdoor Display located in downtown Allentown, PA will run ads and city alerts Mayor Ed Pawlowski says putting the faces of criminals in bright lights sends a message that making arrests of wanted persons is a top priority. “We welcome this new tool in Allentown’s crime fighting arsenal,” said Pawlowski. “We are also moving closer to installing surveillance cameras in areas of the city,” Pawlowski added. While an on-premise permit made this installation possible, the zoning board’s decision to re-classify the display has allowed Billboard Connection to also sell advertising to the public. Digital technology is the newest development in the outdoor advertising world. Billboard Connection provides increased available advertising space in downtown Allentown. This state-of-the-art technology allows multiple advertisers to share ad time simultaneously on a single display. The unprecedented content flexibility gives clients the advantage of targeting specific demographic groups at certain times.
