“Out-of-Home,” It’s Buyer Beware Out-of-home marketing is hot. But buyer beware, your media purchase could put your agency at risk. In an industry riddled with start-ups, you need a vendor with the experience and assets to minimize your risk and liability. Before you sign your next contract, make sure your outdoor solutions company can answer, “yes,” to these statements: □ Every campaign is covered by at least $6 million in liability insurance to insulate your agency and your client. □ All campaign staff members are covered by worker’s compensation insurance. □ Campaign personnel are trained employees. Every brand ambassador receives instruction on the client company and the product. □ The outdoor solutions company owns, maintains and operates its own equipment. Trucks are Department of Transportation monitored for maximum safety. The company never outsources to other vendors. □ Mobile billboards are monitored by an independent, third-party and results can be verified in real time through the Internet. □ The client’s brand is protected. Mobile billboards are immaculate, with high quality images, and are parked in depots when not in use. All materials used in campaigns are completely removed afterwards and recycled whenever possible. □ Floor, sidewalk and street decals are made from non-skid materials and clients are indemnified if someone slips and falls. A multi-million dollar insurance policy covers every campaign.
