Full Color, LED Sign Positioned at Beginning of Bay Bridge, One of the Most Trafficked Areas in the US CBS Outdoor announced today the debut of a new, state-of-the-art electronic billboard at the entrance of San Francisco's famed Bay Bridge, one of the busiest road ways in the United States. The digital billboard, measuring 20 feet tall and 60 feet wide, will feature messages for six advertisers at a time, in five-second increments. Construction on the billboard started in November 2006 and finished last week, and will be fully operational by next week. CBS Outdoor has already received commitments from some of the regions biggest advertisers, as well as several national clients. It is estimated that almost 200,000 cars a day travel over the Bay Bridge, making it one California?s most heavily-trafficked thruways. "In the outdoor business, this is what we consider prime real estate," said Dana Wells, President, Traditional Displays, CBS Outdoor. "Getting signage at the entry point of California's busiest bridge is a huge coup for CBS Outdoor, and a great opportunity to debut one of the slickest, most advanced digital billboards available in our industry." CBS Outdoor has signed a multi-year agreement with the Port of Oakland for rights to the land on which the billboards are being built, as well as a revenue-sharing agreement. Additionally, CBS Outdoor has created a charitable partnership with the Oakland School for the Arts, which will receive a percentage of revenues from the signs as a charitable donation. |
