New York City-based Culver Amherst, a rapidly growing out-of-home media firm, was recently awarded the exclusive contract for transit advertising on CTTRANSIT’s fleet of nearly 400 buses. CTTRANSIT awarded the contract to Culver Amherst following a competitive bid for the franchise. "CTTRANSIT very much looks forward to working with Culver Amherst in the coming years. At a time when subsidy funding for public transit operations is limited, every dollar of advertising revenue becomes increasingly important. Culver Amherst was unanimously recommended by our selection committee based on its proposal," said David Lee, General Manager of CTTRANSIT. The agreement, which commences on July 1, 2005, grants Culver Amherst the right to sell exterior and interior advertising on the CTTRANSIT fleet. Formats include Full Wraps, Kings, Queens, Tails and Interior Cards as well as Half Backs and Free Form displays. The CTTRANSIT fleet covers major cities in the state of Connecticut, with the heaviest concentration in the commercial corridors of Hartford, Stamford and New Haven. “This is a big win for our firm and a great opportunity for local, regional and national advertisers,” said Chris Culver, President of Culver Amherst. “We have developed an extensive bus shelter advertising business in Connecticut over the past ten years and have a diverse base of clients that are always looking for the optimal media mix to promote their business. CTTRANSIT will be key for many of these clients as well as all the new ones we intend to attract,” he went on to say. Advertisers that have already signed on with CTTRANSIT include Pfizer, Remax, Century 21 Real Estate, McDonalds, Nationwide Insurance, Langan Volkswagen and Cirque du Soleil. Connecticut Transit (CTTRANSIT) is the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CDOT)-owned bus service which provides fixed route service in nearly 50 communities in the Hartford, New Haven and Stamford Metropolitan areas. CTTRANSIT is committed to providing safe, reliable and high quality transportation services to the citizens of the state of Connecticut. Culver Amherst is an outdoor media company known for innovation and excellence in the development of out-of-home media properties, including transit advertising, bus shelters, benches, billboards and wallscapes. The firm is headquartered in New York City and has field offices in Connecticut, New Jersey, Long Island, Maryland, California, Massachusetts and Florida (Orlando & Miami). http://www.greatoutdoornetwork.com/GON/soa
