| Overview: | TECHNIQUE MIRAGE was founded in 1986 by cinematographer Robert Collier. At the Orson Wells FilmSchool in 1969 Collier was introduced to unique forms of projection techniques. A 16 yr career in film and media production climaxed with an 180 degree turn as Collier became devoted to the art and science of large format outdoor projection of both still and motion picture images. After a preliminary period of research and development, Collier pioneered the fabrication of equipment capable of projecting high-resolution images on a multitude of outdoor surfaces. The success of this projection equipment and techniques enabled high quality outdoor image projection despite unfavorable surfaces and undesirable ambient light conditions. This unique and creative technology quickly became successful in the advertising and special events markets, now referred to as Projection Media. |
| Competitive Niche: | TECHNIQUE MIRAGE produces and executes Mega-Image Presentations in cities around the world for periods ranging from one day to one month or longer. Dedicated to the art and science of extremely large and bright image projection, Technique Mirage has produced an exclusive array of equipment unmatched in the world today. The Mega-Image presentations consist of varying still or motion picture images projected on appropriate surfaces such as giant screens or building surfaces, which yield maximum visibility. Technique Mirage produces glass projection plates from original images provided by the client. The projected images may consist of full color photographs and/or illustrations. In the case of Mega-Motion Picture Presentations, Technique Mirage will produce the finished projection media from client provided videotape or digital files. Mega-Image Presentations typically commence at dusk and continue until one o’clock am. |
